If you’re tired of doing chores around the home this weekend, why not take the family to Queensland’s biggest 4WD and motocross park? Set across 15,000 acres of a working cattle property, Manar Park is located on the border of the South Burnett and North Burnett regions in South East Queensland. Originally set up by David Laidler as a legal and exciting family adventure park, Manar Park offers motorsport enthusiasts a wide variety of tracks and accommodation options with an emphasis on everybody having an entertaining and safe experience.
 
David and his wife Robyn recommenced control of Manar Park in mid-2008 and since then have devoted most of their time and energy in improving its facilities to become the best motorsports park in Queensland. Whether you’re into 4WDing, motocross, quadbikes, buggies, or endurance racing, Manar Park is a paradise where the fun never ends! With a range of racing competitions and music festivals every year, Manar Park has developed a strong reputation for being afun, comfortable, and entertaining adventure park.
 
How and when can Ivisit Manar Park?
Manar Park is situated approximately 1.5 hours from Dalby, 1.5 hours north-west of Kingaroy, and roughly 1 hour from Mundubbera and Gayndah. The park is open from Fridays to Mondays along with one week prior to, during, and one week after school holidays. Keep in mind that Manar Park is only open for 10 months of the year, with February and November being the months when the park is closed for upgrades.
 
4WD tracks
4WD enthusiasts have plenty of options when it comes to 4WD tracks at Manar Park with over 230kms of tracks to explore, all of which are graded and marked to suit all experience levels. You can choose between climbing the toughest hills, tackling the gorge, enjoying plenty of river and creek crossings, or just taking a relaxing drive down to the river. There’s also a beautiful waterfall and plenty of lookouts to explore, along with a skid pan located near the entrance of the park for those that wish to splash around in the mud!
 
For extreme 4WD enthusiasts, there’s plenty of tough terrain on offer including gullies, drops, hill climbs, and the gorge. Manar Park is renowned for being a playground for the toughest of trucks who wish to tackle extreme rated tracks which are very steep, so bringing your winch is a must! Don’t forget that there’s also extensive tracks for motorbikes, quads, buggies, and unregistered comp vehicles too.
 
What accommodation options are available?
Manar Park has plenty of room for family and friends with multiple campgrounds available (21 powered sites and 40 acres of unpoweredland) where you can experience total peace and quiet alongside the creek. There are numerous clean amenities blocks with flushing toilets, hot showers, an area to wash your dishes, and even a baby’s change room with a baby bath! 
 
If you’re looking to stay in something more luxurious, Manar Park also caters for larger groups with a variety of accommodation options. There are cabins available which sleeps 4 to 5 people and has air-conditioning plus a kitchen, fridge, and other amenities. Alternatively, the New Dongas which are located next to the cabins sleeps up to 14 people while the White Quarters sleeps 10 people and offers comfort and a classic rustic charm in a repurposed working quarter when Manar Park was a thriving cattle station!
 
If you don’t want to leave your four-legged friends at home, you’ll be pleased to know that dogs are permitted at the park so long as they’re on a leash and there’s plenty of free firewood available for campfires.
 
How much does it cost?
A day trip pass to Manar Park for 4WDs, motorbikes, quads, and buggies cost $40 per adult which also includes one night in an unpowered campsite. If you decide to stay in a powered campsite, the cost is a minimum of $38 for two people, and accommodation in the cabins, the New Dongas, and the White Quarters range from $120 to $360 per night.
